Minor enhancements to the XPages Table Control

By Cameron Gregor | 12/13/17 6:34 AM | App Dev - XPages | Added by John Oldenburger

As mentioned in my previous post, I have started up a fork of the ExtLibX project and have started contributing to it instead of my previous GregorbyteXspLibrary. Last week I shared the JDBC Configuration Provider which uses Notes Documents to store the configuration info.

Update on Scheduled Xots / "Designer Lite Plugin"

By Paul Withers | 12/11/17 4:02 PM | App Dev - XPages | Added by Oliver Busse

Some years ago I developed an XPages application that heavily used ODA. In fact, it was the first I used Xots in. At the time, I needed a scheduled agent to send email reminders. I was frustrated that the only option if I wanted code in the NSF was a Java agent, which required me to add a jar file of ODA into the Java agent and copy some utility methods from my XPages code across to the agent.

[IBM Traveler 9.0.1.20] - Error encountered while saving database configuration

By Ulrich Krause | 12/6/17 11:28 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

I ran into an issue when trying to add a new IBM Traveler server to an existing HA pool. The pool already contains 1 IBM Traveler server, so there already is an existing DB2 database instance. ALso, I made sure that the new server can access the DB2 database.

By Patrick Kwinten | 12/6/17 11:09 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

Today I participated in the Domino2025 Jam here in Stockholm. The Jam is organised via a set of workshops around Application Development and Mail & Chat. A small list for the environment

By Fredrik Norling | 12/5/17 3:42 PM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

Domino 2025 Jam is coming up tomorrow in Sweden and I will attend and see how this event will affect the future of the IBM Domino environment. I’ve created a list of things that I think would be good to have for the future. So here is the list in no specific order for now I will probably come back and update this post more.

XPages JDBC Configuration via NotesDocuments

By Cameron Gregor | 12/5/17 6:54 AM | App Dev - XPages | Added by John Oldenburger

If you have used the Extension Library’s Relational controls, then you are probably familiar with the process of configuring your JDBC Connection details. You have the option of setting up a ‘named’ connection so you can reference a database connection by name. This involves creating an xml file.

Domino 10 and Beyond – my thoughts

By Karl-Henry Martinsson | 12/3/17 6:58 PM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

It has now been a little over a month since IBM announced the new direction of IBM Notes, Domino, Verse and Sametime. I have been thinking through what I think this means for the product and the ecosystem of third-party tools and business partners. Some people view the move of development from IBM to HCL Technologies as an abandonment of the product family. But that is not how I see it.

Watson Developer Cloud Java SDK XPages Library

By Paul Withers | 12/1/17 8:34 AM | App Dev - XPages | Added by John Oldenburger

Recently I’ve been digging into the Watson Conversation APIs. With Java being my language of choice, the natural starting point was the Watson Brewery demo which integrates with Watson Workspace. This in itself was a learning experience as I finally stepped beyond the world of Eclipse to use IntellJ IDEA, as mentioned in the ReadMe.

My New Approach for Sharing XPages Controls and Extensions

By Cameron Gregor | 12/1/17 7:45 AM | App Dev - XPages | Added by Oliver Busse

Over the past few years I have shared a handful of controls and techniques on my blog, and most of these I have made available on github in one way or another. Originally I was creating a separate github project for each one such as EmailValidator, PhoneNumberControl and the Messages Controls. After these few I decided it would be more efficient to create a single project that I could put them all into, so I then began to contribute them via my GregorbyteXspLibrary.

Domino and Jar Files

By Paul Withers | 11/28/17 11:49 AM | App Dev - XPages | Added by John Oldenburger

Those of us who have been working with Domino and Java for some time know that one of the big strengths over LotusScript is the host of standard Java libraries that can be utilised. If you want better string or number handling etc, you have Apache Commons libraries. If you want Excel export, you have Apache POI.

Lessons Learned Replacing Lotus: Part 2025

By Red Pill Now | 11/28/17 11:33 AM | Business - Social Business | Added by Oliver Busse

As a long-time Lotus enthusiast I was very interested. My interest in driving a Lotus had waned a bit over recent years as I focused more on the pleasures of spending time with my family than the pleasure of driving my yellow sports car. Now seemed like a good time for me to renew that enthusiasm.

They have are a lot of external applications using this Domino SMTP mail relay server to receive and deliver the email to users and mail-in databases.

OpenNTF - OpenNTF on Twitter

By OpenNTF | 11/17/17 8:38 AM | App Dev - Open Source | Added by Oliver Busse

When the free non-production Domino server license was launched on developerWorks earlier this year, it brought that area of developerWorks to the conscious awareness for possibly the first time. I looked at the "Communities" sub-page and, in particular, the "Social" area near the bottom on the right. That highlighted that there were Twitter feeds being publicised that were not being maintained. That needed addressing.

Creating Alexa Skills with OpenWhisk and IBM Watson

By Niklas Heidloff | 11/16/17 4:43 AM | App Dev - Cognitive | Added by Oliver Busse

My first code pattern (formerly known as developer journeys) has been published on developer.ibm.com/code. The pattern describes how to build Alexa skills with OpenWhisk. Rather than using intent and entity identification from Alexa, Watson Conversation is used. This allows developers to define conversation flows declaratively and developers can reuse conversations that are available in the Bot Asset Exchange.

WebSphere How To: fix errore ADMG0011E while Application Server deletion

By Matteo Bisi | 11/16/17 2:26 AM | Infrastructure - Connections | Added by John Oldenburger

Working on a WebSphere 8.5.0.2 environment I was unable to delete an Application server getting the error ADMG0011E. Inside DMGR and NodeAgent logs I wasn't able to find anything related but inside DMGR FFDC, folder I got a log generated during the deletion time frame with following exceptions.
